The Mairie has a computer available for public use as well as a WiFi connection.
Library
The lending library on the first floor of the Mairie is open every Tuesday afternoon between 2.30pm and 5.30pm. Books of all kinds are available for young and old.
If the library is closed you can return your books to the Mairie during opening hours.
Refuse collection and local waste recycling centres
* Household refuse is collected from the green bins (loose recyclable waste) and brown bins (household waste in bags) according to a regular schedule.
* A bottle bank is provided at the Croix Blanche for glass bottles and jars.
* All other household refuse must be taken to the dechetterie (waste recycling centre).
* It is forbidden to burn green waste such as tree prunings, hedge cuttings and leaves in the open air. Such waste must be composted or taken to the déchetterie.
* Building materials, bulky items, electrical or computer equipment and toxic materials must be taken to the déchetterie.

How to reach Montvalent
The commune of Montvalent lies in the north of the department of Lot(46), in the extreme north of the Midi-Pyrénées region, only 45 minutes drive south of Brive-la-Gaillarde.
By road : interchanges 54 and 55 of the A20 autoroute are within 20 minutes drive.
By air : the nearest airport is Brive-Vallée de la Dordogne - 25 minutes drive away with regular flights from Paris Orly plus flights to and from London City, Maastricht, Amsterdam and Ajaccio, depending on the time of year.
By train : Regular trains between Paris and Toulouse from Brive and Souillac and a connecting TER service between Brive and Saint-Denis-lès-Martel.
